Kindergarten students have started the year with an introduction to a variety of different media. We first watched the reading of The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. Then we created three different pieces of art with the dot as our subject matter. We used stickers, crayons and paint dabbers on the first piece, the second piece was a crayon resist, and the third piece was a paper collage playground.

Indonesian Ceremonial Blankets, called a tampan is often worn for special occasions. Students discovered lines and used them to make their own special blanket. Kindergartners even created new never seen before combination lines by adding lines together in a pattern. What will you use your special blanket for?

Students looked at the art of Ida Kholmeyer to identify shapes and letters. Then we create a marker drawing/ collage that included shapes and letters.
